James Armstrong Richardson International Airport

Completed in 2011, The Winnipeg Airport Authorities new Terminal Building is Canada's newest and 'Greenest' airport passenger facility. The 51,000 sq. m. multi-level terminal is the first airport in Canada to receive LEED rating designation and is less costly to heat than the smaller former facility. The new terminal building consists of a 22-gate, two-level terminal and four-level parking garage. The Winnipeg Airport is the only commercial international airport within Manitoba, making it a vital hub for transportation for the province. Controlled by a Central Utilities Building, the complex heating and cooling system amplifies the efficiency of the airport as a whole. The buildings HVAC equipment includes Haakon Custom Air Handling Units feeding displacement ventilation systems, McQuay Heat Pumps and McQuay Chillers.
